There is so much going on, dear sliders, even the CREW is having trouble keeping track. We were up at Northstar and saw the new Zephyr Lodge well under construction at the top of the mountain. The new Promised Land Express Quad is rocking and Northstar will add the Vail, Epic Mix program this season. Check the video we shot down below, and make sure to check out Facebook tomorrow for more on everything happening.
Squaw Valley and Alpine have merged and we get asked every day when they'll connect the two mountains. We don't know, but expect anything this season. However, for potential pass buyers, the $439 pass is the bomb. You simply can't out ski/ride these two mountains during a winter, no matter how hard you try.
For those skiers and riders who want more alpine feel, and less mega resort: Sugar Bowl, Mt. Rose and Sierra-at-Tahoe all offer world class mountains with value.

*Major Improvements at Northstar!
Vail Puts Their Signature On New Lodge, New Backside Lift, New Epic Mix & More
Northstar will expand the resort boundaries in two areas of the mountain, adding 170 acres of new sidecountry terrain to the resort’s skiable acreage. Guided sidecountry tours and snow cat accessed skiing and riding will also be offered for the first time to advanced skiers and riders who want to explore the resort’s new terrain offering.

Will double the number of skiers/riders that can roll back up the mountain. The bottom terminal will be located to left of the current backside lift, and will end at the top of the Promised Land run. They've cut new runs, and left plenty of tree islands to keep the Northstar alpine feel.

If you saw the CREW video from a couple weeks ago, you would have thought Boreal might be open by now, but Indian Summer has once again gotten in the way.
