This is here for historical reference. i'll be archiving it and starting a new list of discounts for the 1998-99 season whenever it starts.

Right now, all that's still open is Alpine Meadows. They've dropped their prices to $25 for an adult lift ticket, and if you bring a can of corn, you get $5 off.

[Old!] Discount Lift Tickets 1997-1998

So, if you're like me, you're looking for cheap lift tickets. (Well, that's one reason why i put the previous page together.)

Anyways, here's a couple of deals that i've found for cheap lift tickets. You'll have to do the legwork on some of the details, because well, it's late. But don't worry, i've provided nice links that should take you right where you need to go. (Note: Places like Lucky's, McDonalds, Wells Fargo? You're gonna have to go to the _Northern California_ branches to find these deals.)

Contents: Sierra-At-Tahoe - Late Season | Diamond Peak - Brochure/Vouchers | Alpine Meadows - POWDR Cards | Sierra-At-Tahoe/Northstar Web Coupon | Northstar - Late Season | Subway - Kirkwood | Lucky's Bear Valley | Wells Fargo - Various | HP - Various | McDonald's - Sugarbowl | Mid-week Deals

Sierra-At-Tahoe - Late Season
From their info line at (916) 659-7453: After Monday, April 20, tickets will be at the half-day rate ($29) for 90% of their terrain. (Which i take to mean that 10% is closed, not that you have to pay more to ski that extra 10%.)

Diamond Peak - Brochure/Vouchers
Again, this is so late, i don't know if it'll do any good, but if you send your address to info@diamondpeak.com they say you'll receive: "the 1997-1998 Winter Vacation Guide and up to two discount vouchers for Diamond Peak Ski Resort or Diamond Peak Cross Country and Snowshoe Center."

Alpine Meadows - POWDR Cards
Ok, this should be listed under mid-week deals, but it's a little different. You need to go pick up a POWDR card. Unfortunately, i'm not sure where you can find 'em now. [Any Mountain in Saratoga is _out_ of 'em. If you know where i (and others) can get one, please mail me.] But if you have one, there's a bunch of mid-week dates for you to go for only $29: 4/6-8, 4-10, 4/14-17, 4/20-21, 4/24.

Sierra-At-Tahoe/Northstar Web Coupon
Shh, don't tell anybody where you found it, but you can get a great deal ($30 lift ticket!) at the aforementioned site. For good measure though, maybe you should look into signing up for BonusMail, which is where the deal comes from.

Northstar - Late Season
Northstar offers a "$30 lift ticket coupon (a savings of up to $16) that is valid any day of the week from Mar. 16, 1998 through season end (scheduled for April 19). Coupons must be obtained in advance from a participating northern California or northern Nevada ski shop (limit of 2 coupons per customer). Present this coupon at any Northstar ticket window along with $30 and you'll receive an all-day lift ticket." Check the link. There's a huge list of places where you can get these tickets. Woohoo, less than 3 weeks away! (Normally $46.)

Subway - Kirkwood
Hey, Kevin Schadick from Chicago, IL (wow!) writes to tell me that: "Just so you know, Subway has $10 coupons for Kirkwood." Thanks Kevin!
Actually, they're only $5 off, and only for adult lift tickets.

Lucky's - Bear Valley
Ok, so Bear isn't really near Tahoe, but they have a sweet deal, where for every $25 worth of groceries you buy at Lucky's, you can buy a lift ticket for $10 off. So if you bought $100 worth of groceries, you can buy 4 lift tickets (normally $35) for $25 each. The $10 discount is also good on beginners packages too! (Tip #1: The special requires you to bring your receipt and your Lucky Rewards Card. Tip #2: Those cards are free.)
Just found out, that this deal isn't good on Saturday.

Wells Fargo - Heavenly/Northstar/Sierra-at-Tahoe/Sugarbowl
Got an ATM card? Well, buy your tickets at any Wells Fargo ATM that has a "Snow Sport Express" symbol on it. Discounts range from about $3-10, depending on where you're going, how long you're going to ski, and whether you're getting lessons or not.

HP - Northstar/Sierra-at-Tahoe/Sugarbowl/Homewood
Work at Hewlett-Packard? Got friends who do? Ask them to hit their internal web page and look for discount tickets to the aforementioned resorts. You (and they) can save anywhere from $6-7 per ticket. (Northstar/Sierra-At-Tahoe $39, Homewood $28, Sugarbowl $36.) Also, the Northstar/Sierra-At-Tahoe "voucher" will also work as a beginner's package ticket. (Rentals, lesson and lift ticket for the beginner lifts. Normally $50!) (Tip: You can buy 'em straight from certain Longs Drugs.)

McDonald's - Sugarbowl
$5 off an adult lift ticket. Coupon at participating McDonalds. $1 goes to charity if you use the coupon.
And well, that's all i've got for now. By the way, these deals are good if you're going to be boarding/skiing on a weekend. But for even cheaper prices, most places have great deals in the middle of the week, especially Wednesdays (which i presume is their deadest day). i hope to make it out there once or twice in the middle of the week. You should too!

Mid-week Deals

Well, ok, i'm waiting for a disgustingly huge TIFF to print to a PostScript file right now, so while i'm waiting, i guess i'll go through my stack of resort brochures and fill you in on some of these mid-week specials i was mentioning.

2 for 1. $35 gets you two lift tickets.

Sugarbowl - 2 for 1 Wednesdays
2 for 1. $42 gets you two lift tickets.
